I recently shopped around for p. rods. It was quite interesting what I found. Crane Cams, CompCams, and Isky, all give varying lengths for o.e. push rods for the early 300's.
Isky: 10.109"
Crane: 10.203"
Comp: 10.136"
It should be noted that the Crane p.rods are hard to find since the company is no longer making anything.
I also found if you need p. rods made, you can order them through Summit, made by Comp, for cheaper than you can get them from Comp direct.
I also found Smith Bros. p. rods very easy to deal with. Push rods are all they make, and their prices are good for the high quality they produce.
How much shorter a PR did you end up with? Or were they shorter at all?
I actually got the Crane p.rods, which were .078 longer than the oe ones in it. I have the Comp.Cams measuring tool on the way. It is clear that I will require about .050 longer still.
