Funny thread. A must read.

For anyone interested, check out the V-10 vs. PSD thread in the Superduty forum. It's funny.

I have to admit I do not get it. I bought a 6.0 and through all my troubles I am happy. I do not bash the V10 guys or the 7.3 guys on our same team. I do not understand their need to justify their decision by bashing mine. JMHO

It's called an inferiority complex. They're just jealous.

By the way, I owned a 2000 V10. It was fun to drive. But there's no comparison with my 6.0. Don't regret the switch at all.

The v10 serves its purpose, and quite well. That's why I run 6 of them and only am down to only one 6.0 now which is on its last leg, and will be replaced by a v10.

I've said it before and will say it again. I'm surprised when one of my Triton's breaks down. Not at all surprised when the 6.0 goes down.

As a work truck its hard to justify the 6.0 or even the 6.4. Strict service requirements that you can't trust anyone but yourself doing is just one example.

That said my personal truck will always be a Ford diesel.

I've driven the 5.4 both 2v and 3v and wouldn't consider buying one, I've driven both the 2and 3v v10 and I will say the newer ones are pretty nice. I definately use one as a work truck. Not my daily driver though. I like a little more pep to my step in my personal vehicle

The 6.0 has a place where high % of rated power output is needed for a sustained period.

However, that is not the case with most light truck applications except for trucks that are constantly carrying a heavy load or towing.

That is where the gas V-10 will just peter out after 150,000 or so miles, and the diesel will go on well over 200,000.

But the price is considerable maintenance as befitting a medium duty piece of equipment.

Well they aren't going to have much of a choice with the v10 unless they want to get it in a 450 or 550 platform, which brings it's own set of issues as licensing, insurence etc(all dependant on "your" jurisdiction of course).

I love that bill character on there and his siggy. "My v10 will outpull your PSD", of course, he stipulates that the PSD is actually a 7.3, stock and it has to be at sea level.
