Looking at a 2004 CC SB FX4 V-10 95K miles Dealer asking 17k. I think this price is a little high. This would be replacing my 99. I'm unsure about the V-10 (mileage) and also the SB. Any thoughts appreciated.
That seems a bit steep considering that is a 2 valve V-10 and 4R100 automatic (assuming it is not the ZF6sp manual) with almost 100k miles. I have seen 05-07 (3valve gas motors and 5spd torque shift tans) trucks really drop in price with the 2011's coming out. The 3 valve V-10 is a real beast compared to the earlier V-10's. I know that the 2004 trucks had the PI heads with improved HP compared to pre2002 trucks but the 3valve makes 50 more HP and more TQ too. The torque shift transmission really is key when hauling and towing with these trucks and worth the extra bucks.

2000-2004 2V V10 all have the same PI heads therefore the same HP/TQ rating in the F series.
To the OP. Price does seem a bit on the high side. I agree with Crabhab that you could find a 2005+ with a 3V V10 and a TorqShift for the same money but I won't walk away just because of 95K on the clock.
It is in good shape but my 99 just turned over to 103k so I don't think I'm gaining much. Also it is a SB and I've never owned a SB. I think I would miss the extra room. But it is CC. Decisions, Decisions?
