question concerning fuel pressure....
This weekend we will be swapping a carbed motor into my buddy's ranger. We got all the parts we need, except the fuel pressure regulator, to bring the pressure down to 5-7 psi. Do we need to get one that is a return line one( so it sends the extra gas back to the tank) or can we just get the inline one that just stops the gas. The one that just stops the gas is about 70 dollars cheaper, so just wondering if we could use that one. The reason for asking here is I like this section better and i will be doing something like this to my truck soon, so.

You can use a regular pressure regulator. But first, you have to get a "T" fitting, and screw it into the bottom of the regulator(in the in port). Than, you hook the line from the fuel pump to one side of the "T", and the return line to the other side of the "T". Fuel pressure guage on on port of the regulator and other one goes to the carb.. I did that on a Crown Vic that I had that I swapped a carb onto..
