Master Cyl. and rubber plug Question !
I purchased a master cylinder and when I was installing it I found a small rubber plug (spacer?) that is
supposed to go in to the back of the piston in the master cyl. for the push rod to ride on.
Is this normal, do I have to yous it.
I have never seen one.

To the best of my knowlege on reman m/cyl, these plugs are for the brake line and in this case, brake light switch ports. Theres a boot the pushrod goes thru which slips over the entire rear of the cylinder, but thats all. nothing that goes into the piston itself at the rear between the pushrod and the piston.
