I have a 1996 Explorer Limited 5.0 that I bought new. The buttons on the
steering wheel that control the cruise control are badly deteriorated and one actually had a piece crack and fall out. Does anyone know if new
buttons can be purchased and how to go about changing them? Thanks.
Thanks Scucci for the info. The price is not bad on the new parts and I am afraid used
might be about like mine. Thanks again.
If you go to your local Pick N Pull you will only pay about $10 for the set and they are very easy to change out, but Ford used what appears to be the same inits on a lot of cars and you must know what you are looking for as the wiring connections vary between models. Otherwise only 2 8mm bolts holding the air bag to the steering wheel and 2 screws on each assy. to remove and install.
Disconnect the battery before messing with the air bag.
ive seen them around online. i just typed it in on google and a few things came up. i think that in order to get them out you will have to take out the airbag and stuff. i watched a how to video on youtube a while ago on a 99 exploder on how to take all of that stuff out.
