Ok so this just started a few days ago. only really happens above 50mph and goes away around 80-85. but at 50mph+ if your on the go pedal it vibrates the floor/seat take foot off the pedel and coast it goes away. i have a the carriar bearing droped 1" and just tried it at 1.5" but no difference. the rubber around the bearing is busted up in one spot and dry rotted alittle but the bearing spins fine and the bearings in the bearing feel fine should it still be replaced?
update:
all the u joints are fine even the carrier bearing looks fine replaced them all tho. how much should it cost to get a 2pc driveshaft balanced?
i also read on a dodge forum if the vibration goes away when you let off the gas and comes back when you get back on it then the problem might be in the rear axle.. **** i hope not!!
when did it start doing this? I see you have a lift, was it doing this before the lift? Have you pulled the driveshaft? If you have and didn't put it back the same way it came off the two pieces may be clocked wrong now causing it to be off balance.
no ive had the lift for 3 years just started with the vibration last week. i just pulled the driveshaft yesterday marked how it came out. in the process of replacing the ujoints center bearing and getting it balanced. but everything looked fine all the ujoints were fine the center bearing was ok...
I'm not sure this is relevant to you, but I have seen cases where people complained of a vibration while accelerating and the cause was actually an engine misfire.
i considered this but its not rpm dependent it doesnt do it below 50mph and above 85mph if i throw the truck in neutral at 55mph and rev it to 2k rpms theres no vibration.
