i was trying to take the hubs off my truck because i couldnt un-lock the drivers side. so as i was taking out the bolts i noticed two of them just spun and nothing happened. i could just pull them straight out. i got all of them but one out, the last one snapped somewhere bad. i couldnt pull it out, but when i turn it nothing would happen. so my hub is on there and wont un-lock. what should i do?
If you have all the bolts out or broken the hub should come off, tap it with a rubber mallet or something they can get a little stuck after being on there 30 years.

The little allen bolts only hold the chrome ring around the dial. If the heads have broken off, the chrom ring will still come off. It ill then only leave some of the broken bolts attached to the retaining ring inside of the hub itself.
Use a pocket knife, or similar to pry the chrome ring away from the hub. If the bolts or at least the bolt heads are no longer there, the chrome ring and dial will come off.
Once off, you can remove the large snap ring that retains the outer retaining ring, and the small snap ring on the stub end, and the entire lockout will be in your hand.
Now, you can use whatever method that is required to remove the remaining bolts. Drill tap, or whatever you have. At least it will be out of the truck and easy to fix.
That thing will come off. Ive snapped several, and remove the rings this way.
Its not so bad.
