bed cover options?

bed cover options?

I am looking for a removable/roll up bed cover for my 1995 f150 flareside. It has an a.r.e hard fiberglass cover on it now,looks nice and keeps stuff dry,but i can't carry anything that goes over the height of the bed without leaving the bed cover open,not very safe I am thinking. I don't have any experience with any other style bed covers,so input would be appreciated!! thanks.

Those roll'n'lock covers are nice but they're pricey and eat up some space even when open.

I like canopies, but I live on the Wet coast.

You can make your self one like I did. Ply-wood and sheet metal. Splits open in the middle, and easy to remove when needing box for large stuff.

I had a vinyl rollup tonneau cover on my truck ever since I bought it and while it was pretty easy to use it wasn't at all secure. I now have a cap for it just for that reason.. don't want any tools stolen, here are pics of the two setups.

security is not a problem,I rarely leave anything in the back that is worth stealing,and the hard cover on there now doesn't have a key to the lock(previous owner never had a key for it). A cap would be nice when I go camping,but still presents the same problem as the hard cover does with hauling large things. I am really thinking about just taking the hard cover off and using a tarp to cover the things up I don't want to get wet when me and the kids are camping.
