what? you guys think i run one of those pieces of crap in my truck? i got a 1.9l out of an escort under the hood, and as crazy as it sounds there are 459 other fatdan's on this forum

hey i own a 00 focus and i hate the 2.0 sohc motor in it. now my 01 2.0 DOHC i loved... i love my 390 some days, now tomorrow when i start to take off the intake to re-seal it...im going to freakin hate it. i respect any motor as long as it makes power. doesnt matter the make. i also love big block mopars...i sold my 74 cuda to restore my highboy...i think some people just go a little over board sometimes but hey, who am i to judge...

I don't know about the rest of the world hey I live on an island for god sakes, but i do know that when I toast an engine i can get a 400 for 300 bucks with the tranny and transfer case and the cheapest 460 I can find is 800 for a block minus the carb and pulleys so for someone like me who would rather be able to motorvate rather than wait for mail-order parts i'll take the 400

From where I stand you are far from awesome but if driving a 460 equipped vehicle makes you awesome then I guess I am too. You are bashing M-blocks and you just admitted that you don't even own one!!! What a joke! Well I can say that I own several along with 2 385 series, a 4.9, a 5.8W, etc. I have so much I would like to say to lame brain people like you but I don't have all day. You are one of those people that misreads everything(proven by you not finding "second"). You also don't know how to process what you read. Everything I said was taken out of context by you. I don't mean you have to respect every motor Ford made in a sense of how much HP and TQ they made such as your story about your Escort. Those cars were not made for power they were made for economy so why would you assume I would want you to respect them for their power? I don't get you. To start with, they're called opinions, and everyone is entitled to theirs. And if you are going to jump on one, you'd better jump on the others, too. Hasteranger is not the only one ragging on the engine. If you're gonna hate, hate fair.

Second, you are taking this awful personally for someone who is simply "passing along the info." It seems that you are trying to prove to others that you have a good engine. Plus, your original post certainly sounded like you were trying to bait folks into making comments.

As far as your little loyalty speech, I don't know of a single person who likes every single thing that a particular manufacturer turns out. That's called misplaced loyalty, because there isn't a manufacturer out there who hasn't made something that some folks didn't like. By your way of thinking, everyone who owns a Ford should think the Pinto is a fantastic car just because it's a Ford.

There are quite a few on here who say the 360 is junk, but I take it with a grain of salt even though I have one and I love it. Opinions are opinions, and that's all that they are. If you have a 400 and you like it, fine. You have inhabited this forum for long enough to know that threads about one engine vs. another will always attract a range of opinions. You can't expect people to jump on a thread and pat you on the back just because you provide information from a magazine. Besides, most of those magazines, as stated earlier, can do what they want and build what they want because they have the resources to do it. For most of us on here, though, that information might as well be printed in Chinese.

If I had the money and the time, I could probably build a 600 horsepower Yugo engine. Wouldn't mean that it was any better as a vehicle, but it would prove that it could be done.

hahahahahahah thats some funny stuff right there.
But you are right, everyone is entitled to thier opinion. I did like to see that it is possible that that engine could make the big numbers, but like you said it would be too expensive to build ( for me anyways). But knowing it has the potential to have that kind of power is always cool.
As for the pinto, if it's got the yugo engine you talked about in sign me up and were are the pics!!!!

If I acually did build a 600 horse Yugo engine, I sure as heck wouldn't put it in a Pinto. With my luck, it'd get incinerated when the car gets rear ended by a bicycle and explodes!

I didn't read anything else on the thread after I saw that the original author lacked total humor and was again attacking me based on what was obviously designed to be a humorous post. Dude. You take life way too seriously. Take another zanax and find your happy place.

Regarding cost, I just bought a running 460 with c6 and NP205, edelbrock carb, RPM intake manifold, saginaw pump, edelbrock valve covers, and an RV cam, stock rebuild, for $430. good deal. but they are out there.
