I am sure this has been posted previously, but I can't seem to find it. And I have always had very good advice come from you guys regarding my threads, so here goes:
I have a 1989 F250 351W C-6 Trans 4X4. When I bought the truck the previous owner had removed the rear fuel tank. He pretty much did a backyard "HACK" job. Cutting lines going to the rear tank, and left the fill spout just hanging back there. I also noticed the rear vent line was cut with what appears to be a sawsall.
My father-in-law and I bought a "parts" vehicle for $250 (the cost of the BRAND NEW TIRES left on it). That truck has basically the same set-up. Just curious how much trouble is it to redo everything to get that rear tank operational again?
The donor truck, has good working parts everywhere on it, with the exception of a bad head.
Would I have any issues with taking the tank through the top instead of dropping down, since the donor will have it's bed removed.
I am switching parts from the donor off to my F250 & My Father-In-Law's F150. So I was just thinking it should make it easier to get to everything with the bed off the donor?
Well I'll be removing it with the bed off, and installing onto a truck with the bed still on. I'll let you know which one seems easier. Course the receiving truck does have a 5" Body Lift, so I am sure that will help out.
