exhaust help

I have a 1996 f150 with the 302 i got stock manifolds and stock cat but i have a glass pack that split to duals exhausts out the rear would it make more h.p if i cut off the cat.

I like how those setups with the Y'd out glasspack sound. You might get a little more. Do you still have both cats or just the 1 at the Y pipe?

If you want to make more HP with the 302 , use long tube headers & custom exhaust , that will give you a good boost ....Lew

Will the shorty headers bolted to my exhaust that i have now help any with hp and better fuel mileage.

The shortys are better than the stock manifolds , but with out replacing the stock Y pipe they wont do much good . With the long tubes & exhaust you will gain more , TQ, thats what a truck needs ...Lew

On my 96 I installed Hedman shortys, magnaflow y with cats cherry bomb extreme, and installed the I6 intake tube (302) auto 3.55, im getting 15/16 mixted mileage

After all that i did gain some Tourqe that i can feal on the HWY !
