Hot stereo??
No, not a stolen stereo, but actually hot to the touch! when I went to change a CD, I noticed the disc was hot, and so was the whole stereo face. Kind of strange - I never noticed it being hot, or even warm for that matter. It's an Alpine, only about 2 months old. Not a system either, just an Alpine hooked up to stock size speakers.
Any ideas? Like I said, never noticed this before??

I noticed a Sony stereo that I had started to do the same thing not too long before it died. I would check to see if it's still under warranty (some of those thigs are only 30 days), and see if they'll replace it.

I was a licensed Alpine dealer for use in specialty applications, such as aircraft. We noticed this same thing with our Alpine units, but after thousands of flight hours, they were still going strong. I would say that it is nothing to worry about unless it is off when this happens. If it can stand the rigors of altitude and temp changes in an high-end business aircraft, it can stand the vehicles we drive.
I also noted the same heat issues with high end Nakamichi and Eclipsse units in the same environments.
