Have questions?

New to the diesel section of the forums. I just purchased my second 80's F250 this one is a 84 with a 6.9 4x4 with a c6. It has a front clip from a 91 and the box of a 97. I drove it home about 35 miles without power steering(its there, but not hooked up) and with no exhaust(once again there, but not attached) I have already replaced the exhaust, but due to a surprise fuel leak I cannot start yet. I am unaware if rear tank works. P.O. says it does, but his son says unknown.

The first couple of questions I have are...

1. I have a box off a 97 on the truck now, but need to change the front tank as it has a bad leak. Does anyone know if the tank from a 95 will fit my 84 frame/97 box setup? I am especially concerned about the filler tube lining up.

2. Does anyone know if the power steering pump tension adjuster is the same off a gas engine and which size would work?(302/351) I have access to both of those.

Any help would be great.

you might try measuring where the filler neck is in relation to the front of the bed on both boxes.everything should line up though
