Interior Swap?
I tried asking this question in the superduty forum with no response. I know it's possible to swap an 05+ bumper/grille onto the 99-03 7.3's. But is is possible to swap some of the newer interior parts into the older trucks. Such as the radio, and dashboard components?

I am not sure on the radio, but the dash should be all the same. Only question would be if the electical connections would fit for like the stereo and dash.

The dash will require some trimming IIRC. Starting in '05 the dimensions were a little different so they weren't a direct swap. I, along with others, have swapped for an '06 or so Mountaineer unit that has the in-dash 6CD, MP3 capability, satellite radio connection. You can also get the Audiophile version that has a high output (190W I think). You have to buy (or make) an adapter plug but the unit slides right into our dash. You can find them on eBay.

The bezel alone is not swappable as the radio hole and climate control holes do not match. The complete dash is a direct bolt in though, so if you can get that, you are good to go. The radio needs an adapter plug and thats about it. You will need the larger 05+ radio as well.

The reason I am asking is because I just sold my 96. And, im starting to look for a new truck. So I figure if i can find a nice 99-03 with a 7.3. I'll swap the front end over to the 05+ look. And then work the interior around to have the updated look. It would be a win win.
