Great info, guys.. And I believe you're right bc I think this motor came out of a Ford LTD? Still have one more question though, I'm finding on Summit Racing that there's an option for a 351 engine in the '77 model (It doesn't specify Windsor or not) and there's another option, like bmuhlbach suggested, with a 302?
Should I go with the 302 bc the 351 is just and enlarged 302?
And if so, does anybody have an opinion on the different brands? Here's a link showing the 4 options available for a 77 302:
I had the Summmit brand on mine and had to do some tube denting to get them to clear the gear box and some twiking on the pass side to clear the bell houseing in the c6.Redoing the truck now and I installed Heddmans this time mostly some issues.
ive seen on here that no windsors were put into trucks before 80.i have seen a few.there not that common.these were canadian models.are you sure there are none down your way.
I'm trying to remember where the date coat is I believe if you pull the valve covers its in there about 3/8 tall lettering. And are like four numbers like D4VE or something like that.
Don't think you saw factory install 351Ws in pickups before 80. Lord only knows who may have installed them if indeed they were Ws. Not saying that they weren't.
