The Left is the old one and the right one is the new reman pump.....Why is the impeller different? and is it ok?

i'm assuming the first one is the old factory one? if so, it's probably just a cost savings method. cheaper stamped piece of steel v.s. a stronger cast piece. shouldn't make a difference

 

When I was shopping online for a water pump for my 1988 460, I noticed a hd cooling and standard cooling option. I opted for the HD cooling and the pump I got had the same impeller as the original, which is the same impeller you have on the left pump in your picture. Not sure if this is the case, but can't hurt to check back with the parts store you got that pump at. Good luck
