Hello all. Im still getting used to the site. What I have here is a 94 F150 Mark 3 edition automatic trans. My dad got the truck from an impound yard for $1,000 with 94K miles and zero rust. Which is crazy for Fords in PA. The truck sat for 1 year in the impound yard.
Well my problem is when I start her up she idels really high. Then when I shift into gear it goes in hard. Idles high everytime you start it warm or not.
Also seems like its slips into 4th gear. But it seems like and electrical problem more than a transmission problem. Check engine light comes and goes when the gas is pedal is pressed. Did get a TPS sensor code. Shifts hard alot and shifts late. And also does not like to shift down going up hills.
This is strange. All and all its a nice truck. I know nothing of fords as Im a VW Guy
fordfuelinjection.com has instructions for replacing and testing the TPS. since your tranny is electronicly controlled by many sensors and the computer.
You got no codes other than the TPS? Racing engine usually means a vacuum leak or one of the temperature sensors not functioning properly. Does your transmission use a vacuum modulator? If so, check to see if that line is connected, or if it's got ATF in it.
