Maybe that '95 Bronco has a drain plug on the torque converter.

I was also thinking that it may. Didn't the E4OD have them?

Frankly I think every TC should have a drain plug, it just makes sense to be able to change ALL of the fluid.

Torque Converter Drain

Thanks for your posts (x3). Yes, I am planning on draining the torque converter too. There is a drain. However, it's not on the pan. What you have to do is, pull the 1/2 dollar sized black rubber plug (similar to the bottom of our piggy banks when we were kids, then use a 15/16" deep well socket and long breaker bar ratchet to turn the crankshaft bar until the plug lines up with the hole at the bottom of torque convert. housing (where the black plastic plug was removed from), then drain it. I hope this will clean the rest of the rad fluid out. Do any of you know if I need the tranny filter bracket I mentioned (I have heard some say yes and some say never had a problem w/filter falling out without a bracket). They can only be obtained by internet order. This job is turning into a money pit and very time consuming!... Not too mention, I still have the major play in steering I still have to contend with after this fiasco (I have already replaced: radius arm bushings, RH inner tie rod, new cambers, sway bar bushings, and u-joints in propeller shaft (The u-joints need replacing but have nothing to do w/play in steering but replaced them too)!

transmission update

I was able to turn the engine w/the 15/16" deep well socket until I got the drain plug lined-up w/the hole in bottom of torque converter & drained it. I let it drain for over a day since it is cold. Then, I drained and dropped the tranny pan (20 bolts). What a nightmare that was! No easy was to do it since there is no drain plug on the tranny pan! So now, here's where I am & would love some expertise on anything else I need to do before putting in new rad, rad fluid & tranny fluid. I have: 1. drained and removed damaged rad; 2. removed thermo from housing & flushed w/H2O until clear coming out lower rad hose; 3. removed the right most heater core hose and flushed w/H2O until clear coming out lower rad hose; 4. drained torque converter; 5. dropped tranny pan and let fluid drip off tranny for 2 days; 6. cleaned tranny pan (the magnet was missing in tranny pan! so, order a new one from Ford & will be here tomorrow); and 7. bought new tranny filter, rubber gasket, & aftermarket filter bracket to hold it in place. Is there anywhere else I need to flush w/H2O before putting tranny filter gasket, pan, fluid, & install new rad & coolant in?

Help!?!?

Bigbeardbill, there is a screw on top of your power steering gear box that will help take the play out of the steering wheel. I have the same problem with my 95 f150 5.0. I cleaned out the whole system, put new coolant in and gave it an oil change when I did the oil pan gasket but the coolant looks like a whipped chocolate smoothie
