tires and chains
guys i just bought a new XL with the steel wheels, can anyone tell me if i can fit 285/70/17's on there? i dont know if the steel wheels are different than the alumnum ones. if i can fit those can you tell me if i can fit chains on with that size, and if not can you tell me what is the biggest tire i can get and fit some chains?

I well assuming that you have a 2010 XL 4x4 HD and the stock tires at least according to Tire Rack are 245/75/17 I would say no you can't fit them on the steel wheels because they appear to me to be too wide. I would expect the aluminum wheels to much the same story.
On the matter of chains on either wheel type since I have no experience with them I past that question to others.

Is your truck 4wd or 2wd? I'm not sure if it's the same on 09+ models but I know on my '06 4wd I can fit 285/70/17's without rubbing so I would assume you could do the same if your truck is 4wd. If it's only 2wd the tires you can fit aren't quite as big. I'm not sure exact numbers though.
