2000 Excursion No/Little Heat
My heat recently went out in my 2000 Excursion w/ 155,000 miles. I can get to the front heater core through the glove box and it gets hot but as the air is pushed through it the core cools off significantly, especially through the center of the core. The blend doors are functioning properly. The rear heat is doing the same thing so I've mostly ruled out a clogged core. What does this sound like to you all?

The Excursion has a vacuum operated valve on the heater core input hose. When the A/C is turned on it shuts to boost the performance of the A/C. It should be open when the A/C is off and you have the heat on. May want to look at it and see if it is opening correctly when the modes are switched. I'm not 100% on if it also impacts the rear heat but is certainly an easy item to check as a starting point.
