Low temp...is there a problem?

OK, so for the past two days, my temp guage has been running lower than normal, like just above C. Is that a problem? Is it a sign of my 6.0 becoming a 6.blow?

It was 55 degrees outside as I was driving. Also, the other day it was about 70 when I was driving. If there's any other information you need, please ask.

Start with checking for a sensor failure and bad connection.

Use any convenient thermometer you can find to measure the temperature of coolant at the top of the rad (hottest place) to see if the temp is normal.

See how it compares with the temp gauge.

sound like a partially stuck thermostat, they are very easy to change on a 6.0. do you have any way to check temp other than factory gauge?

looks like a good time to flush coolant

I just had exactly the same problem --- except gauge would move from the 2nd notch all the way to normal back up and down.

It is caused by a partially stuck / sticking thermostat.

If you just drive... it might clear itself as mine did.

Alternatively, change coolant..... and thermostat at same time.

The thermostat is not cheap from a ford dealer.

My 07 had the same thing happen to it.It was the thermostat.

On a side note,Should you change the coolant after something like this happens?
