Numbers for a 390?

Probably, but remember those were gross HP ratings, so to compare to current ratings, figure about 80% of that number, give or take depending on the engine.
While a 390 is certainly a lot of motor, those cars got beaten like red-headed step children in the day. 396s, tri-power 389s, 383s all gave a 390 a bad day. Thus, the 427 Fairlane....
Back to this engine--what condition is it in? Running? Plans?
Don't fret none about the OEM specs. Just a few rolls of $20 bills will get you to 400+ HP, 500 if you like.....

oh, its already been built to the T, we bought it from a reputable friend of ours who races drag cars. just wondering what it came with stock. Thinking it should probably be making around 400 easy, with a parts sheet that was close to 2K

390 2V, 9.5 to 1 regular fuel rated at 270 hp @ 4400,
390 4V, 10 to 1 regular fuel rated at 315 hp @ 4600 and the
390GT 4V, 10.5 to 1 premium fuel rated at 320 hp @ 4800.
Unless the car was a GT badged car the 4V 390 would be the 315 hp motor.
