Right now my truck is parked for a variety of troubles, and the next thing on my list is replacing the rag joint. I looked at it the other day and I was not happy with what I saw...
That thing looks really chewed up, and there's another one on the other side, and it was busted off... What do I do about it?? Will this be a junkyard part?
Sam
P.S. The truck has manual steering, and the rest of the info about is in my signature
The rag joint is a fairly easy part to remove; held on by two 1/2" nut/ bolt combo's. You can purchase a new one just about any auto parts store; around 10 bucks. Usually located in the helps section of your parts store.
hope this helps you out!
Ok, thanks guys. I'm having some trouble getting the old joint off though, I loosened the three bolts that hold it on and pried it up about an inch, but the rest of the column gets in the way, and I can't get the thing off.... what am I missing??
