does anything remove touch up paint?
I bought a 96 f 250 4x4 the truck runs real good but the guy I bought it from used the wrong color touch up paint on about 20 scratches that are about 2 feet long on one side of the bed only and its looks really bad I really dont know why he did this since the scrathces are real thin. But the truck ran so good I bought it and i got it for a decent price. Is there a way to get the touch up paint off at all without taking the
original paint off?The trucks dark blue and he used some light blue color on it and it looks really bad and I dont have the money to get it painted yet.im guessing there is no way to get it off since its been on there for about 3 or 4 years.but I thought I would ask anyway.

Since the touch-up paints that are brushed on are not catalyzed, you should be able to wipe it right off with a rag damp with reducer. HOWEVER!!! Be VERY careful doing this since it can damage surrounding paint. But if it were my truck I'd give it a shot. Just dampen the rag with reducer, wipe in a small spot, then wipe it dry with a clean rag. Do small spots and check your work constantly. Hope this helps!
You get it at an autobody supply store. Sometimes laquer thinner will work as well.
But one thing to remeber with touch up paint, touch up never blensd well. He might have used the correct paint color, but it is a differnet formula than the truck. IMO touch up paint never blends in correctly, even the stuff you buy from the dealership. Unless you have someone mix up paint to match your truck, you might be in the same situation. Some colors out there have one formula, some can have up to 10 or more formulas for the same paint code. There are many different reasons why this is.
