94 351 PCV Question

Hi guys,

I am new to Broncos and have some questions - 94 351 XLT. I am used to working on my 78 F150, big difference here. Thanks in advance for any help or advice - this is a great site and good people.

I am doing the first tune up on it and I couldn't find the PCV. I read the FAQ's and thanks to greaystreak92 I found it - but can't see it. So I can feel it and the top port on it has nothing going to it. I looked at the vacuum diagram under the hood and didn't see any line going to it. Any ideas?

Any tricks on replacing this? It's in a bad spot. I've done everything except this. I'm trying to get mpg's back up - dropped by 3 in the last few months.

Thanks,
Mark

The upper hose barb on the PCV valve should have nothing running to it. This particular valve was used in multiple applications and has the second barb on it for a different vehicle/engine combination. However the upper barb SHOULD be plugged either with a plastic plug that came with it or a rubber cap. Otherwise you have a vacuum leak.

Be sure to check and make sure you have vacuum coming from the port on the back of the intake that the PCV plugs into. I have found those plugged up with carbon on several Windsor motors I have had or worked on.

Thank You!

I really like the Bronco I just need to learn more about it. I hope this will help the gas mileage.

I am sure I will have more questions in the future.
