I just might have a couple of em mounted up and see what they look like. As far as fuel mileage goes. Driving several miles a day down loggin roads and then several miles sometimes on no roads with a couple miles of 4 low throwed in a couple times a week I feel real lucky if I get 12 mpg's. Usually it's more like 8 to 10. LOL

Here are a few pics of the roads I travel if anyone is interested. I have a fun job.

This little hill here required a winch and a dozer to get the truck up.

Nope, contrary to popular belief, they will run all day like that.

When you're in that kind of mud, I'd be concerned about mud getting built up between the 265's and not being able to clear itself out.

Mud will build up in any dual setup, you just have to clean it out. I have had to remove the wheels on my semi's several times to clean them.

Ditto, when I was still running the logging truck after we were done sliding down the mountain (cause that's just what it was, semi-controlled sliding, not driving) we'd hit the first fuel station on the level and pressure wash the heck out of the wheels and axles on both tractor and trailer, only then would be hit the black top.

LCAM, that's kind of my thought, though I guess I didn't get it across well, in that if there is very little space between the tires, it would be tough to clean the mud out by washing or any other means, and it may be necessary to pull the outside tire to clean them out.

Mud actually falls off rather easy with a pressure washer while it's still wet, once it dries out tho you're right, wheels will have to come off.

Good point about the mud. They always pack up the way they are now but they usually clean themselves out pretty good by the time I hit the road. Actually, those pics show the ROW while they are still in decent shape. Sometimes it gets to be waist deep slop. I think I'll stick with what I have.. Thanks guys.

Are them 265s a semi-aggressive treat pattern?

I've run 215/85R16's and 235/75R16's. I don't know if there was any difference between the two. I liked the 215/8516's better only because there was more room between the tires, just made me feel more comfortable.

My daily driver is also a dually. I aveage about 18 mpg with my 4 speed and no OD. I have 3.55 gears. My best mpg run was 22mpg, but I was driving VERY slow and responsibly...you have to realize that an engine can actually be more efficient at a higher RPM than a lower RPM under load. In other words, 2nd gear at a higher RPM is more efficient than 3rd gear at a lower RPM.
Tires are tires. I've run only junkyard tires on my trucks. 80% tread, and 1/4 price of new...works for me! I got a matched set of 4 rears for $100. I can't remember the brand now, but they went for $120 each new...

HEY, COOL pictures!! Thank you for sharing!! That's what a truck is for, workin' hard! Amazing "little" hill!

I wouldn't call them aggressive. More like an all terrain. I have never seen this brand tire before. Decent looking tires and they have about 500 miles or so on them. I may have another use for them tho. My F250 should be home this weekend. I know they will work on it if it needs them.

WOW! You guys are kicking my butt as far as fuel mileage goes. I don't think I have ever gotten more than 14 or so and that would be a rare thing. My IP and injectors are prolly getting tired tho. No telling how many miles on them and I have never checked the timing on it. My parts truck has a brand new IP on it (PO showed me a reciept where he paid the Ford dealer 1300 bucks for it installed) with about 1k miles. Just need to get some injectors and get it all installed. I may end up swapping the engines out instead. I been hearing some funny noises coming from the valve train on cold start ups here lately.
