When i bought my truck, The p.o. showed me he wasnt all there. He said his future plans involved ditching the NP205 transfer case in order to put a gear to gear case in it. Wow. Then he said there was another engine on the bed--same as what was in it, just a different letter. I just looked yesterday--It's a 351m....not a 400. But i am gonna hang onto it cause i think i might need a head off it. Stupid people annoy me......
Hey at least you got the truck out of his hands. I wish I could save every dentside from people who are either gonna hack them up or let them rust away.
oh don't say that on here, apparently its fighting words among some. hahaha.
But you don't know why he was disappointed. He prolly has a party barge and he needed something to hold it in place this summer, and when he found out it wasn't a 400 he felt bad about maybe using the 351.
But hey, I like the PO's style.
Yank out that np 205 and the big block, swap in some ****ty stuff, puts more of hte good stuff on the market for hte rest of us.

I know...I am gonna find out whats wrong with my 400 and if I can use any parts off the 351 to fix it, then i might see about rebuilding it to a 400 for a spare engine. How do i know if the 400 in the truck now has a straight up timing kit in it or not with out pulling it apart?

I would also like to know if there is an easy way to check for a previously installed straight up timing gear and chain set?

So, this thread got buried....I am not complaining anymore, but i would like to know if anyone can answer me about the timing set? You'd think if he put a cam in it, he would have installed a new timing set, but who's to know if is the right one or not?
