my front brake's didn't work enough.
i have tryed 3 kind's of brakepads, but its not much better.
i can't blok the front wheels.
its on a '78 F250 supercab 2wd with dual piston calipers and 33'tires.
i have replaced the brake fluid for ATE bleu racing dot4.
i have cleaned the calipers and replaced the seals inside.
are there pads that will brake well that i can blok the wheels?
wow, never knew there were so many old trucks spread throughout the world. sounds like maybe the same thing that's going on with my brakes. i cleaned it all, but it might just need a new caliper or perhaps the caliper rebuilt. someone also suggested to me to really really clean the groove that the pads move back and forth on inside the caliper. gets pretty rusty and dirty in there, and the pads won't move back and forth correctly when the calipers release. are the brakes soft, or are they sticking?
i have cleaned the calipers and cups in a ultrasoon cleaner.
installed the new seals with ATE brake grease and the cups to.
they moved fine.
the brake hoses,2 in front and 1 in rear are 3 years old.
i replaced the brake fluid every 2 years.
i have put some ceramic brake grease between the pads and the calipers.
they all moves verry easy.
fill the mastercilinder and bleed it many times.
the pedal is hard enough.
I think that if she's braking fine with a good hard pedal there may be nothing wrong. The proportioning valve split the brakes pressure between the front and rear to about 60% rear and 40% front to prevent front whel lockup during hard braking. With 33's on the front , that's alot of traction when the brakes are appliedand maybe too much fro the brakes to be able to lock up the front wheels. Do the rear brakes lock up ? If they do and the truck stops good and straight without any pull in the steeering wheel , then I think all is fine with the front brakes.
the rearbrakes will lockup, but i think that the front can brake faster/heavier.
i have a '66 mustang too with drums in the front and thad brake's harder than the f250.
i think i need heavier pads, but i don't know wich pads.
i can't buy them in the netherlands, and if i buy them in the states i must more than dubbel pay the price if they cost.
