howdy all,
in the 1/4 mile my ranger does 11.45 seconds. i'm more into stock cars myself. for a big car its pretty agile and quick. i like my ranger too. for a little truck its fast. and gets good gas milage to boot. we went to the coast last weekend and put 347 miles on it on 1/2 tank and were up 600 miles and still have 1/4 tank. to go. my wife was impressed.

You have a ranger that turns 11s in the quarter? is that the one in your sig? Cause if so I want to know what you did to it. most mustangs turn high 13s my galaxie would be lucky to turn 12s and vettes are in the 12s.
everything is there except that. the centerforce clutch. it will do it, it surprised me. i thought it was quick but not that quick. but for a v-6 thats quick. right after i put that clutch in my wife couldn't drive it without spinning the tires. my first run was 11.55
she got in it and ran 11.45. that girl is fearless. i don't do that but yep its fast. and for having 170k on it thats not bad. she had that thing wound up tighter then 8 day clock.
Jack, I agree with you about how fast a Ranger is. At work I went from driving an E350 w/ a 4.2 V-6 to a Ranger w/ the 4.0. That thing was dangerous (but fun)! I can't remember how many lights I burned rubber from until I learned how to drive it. And it was an auto.
But 11's? That's fast.
The neighbor boy had a racing snowmobile with a smooth belt for a track and inline wheels where the skis went. That thing would run 120 in a long 1/8th and be tached out so had to just run for the rest of the quarter and still finish in the 11's. The only thing that beat him was a crotch rocket that ran 150-160 and just beat him at the finish. Nothing could come off the line like that sled did.
Based on the factory listed curb weight of 3010 and not including you. According to all the calculators that figure hp off of ET you are making 395hp at the crank and 355hp at the rear wheels. All that out of a 244cid engine is dang impressive without a supercharger (GM only makes 250hp out of a 3.8l WITH a supercharger). Adds up to 1.61hp/cid which in comparison I was making 1.77go per cid out of my 521 full on drag motor.
i got tortured while working at the restaurant last weekend, seeing all of those cars fueling up or going by on the interstate. If anybody say the HALAL Camaro(orange and black with a CF wing) we have done quite a few fixes on the body of that, and just worked on his boy's 05 Roush(blue and white). other than that, I don't think we had any other cars up there that I know of.
