does any one know where i can find some approximated torque and hp gains with a Compcam XE250H in a mostly stock 302 EFI from an 87 Bronco.
a few good educated guestimations would probably work but actual numbers would be great. thanks for the imfo...
From the profiles I have for DD2000 for a stock 5.0efi, I cam up with these numbers.
Stk peaks
206hp@4500
280tq@3500
With cam change only (xe250H)
217hp@4500
286tq@3500
Now you must remember, these are close, but not dead on, and will give you a good idea of the effect of the cam. A small difference from the profiles I have, to the ones someone else may have, will effect these numbers as well. Take it for effect not as gospel.
Those nubmers seem a bit low, I've gotten up to 378 ft*lbs of torque with the same cam. The exception might be the 1.94/1.60 valves and the exhaust system, which seems to have a profound effect on the numbers that program uses. That's the cam I used in my old 302, it's a killer cam, but I'd recommend upgrading your heads too if you really want to take advantage of the extra breathing your engine could do. It'll get about the same fuel milage you're getting now, but you're gonna love what the 110 LSA does for your acceleration, it feels like a nice kick in the back. TK
