1986 ford 5.0
I have a 1986 ford 5.0l Fuel inj. I am having a problem with it the truck will idle fine and run ok until you try to give it alot of throttle. it runs ok till about 2500 then it acts as though it runs out of fuel if you pedal down it pretty much just goes back to idle. I have replaced both fuel pumps. Please help or i am going to carb it.

Always check the codes in the computer. It's way easier than rebuilding carbs. Also change the fuel filter, and check the fuel tank switching valve on the frame rail. I have heard the early units like yours may have a fuel filter in valve.

Thanks for the advice i think i found part of the problem the upper intake is leaking so i will fix that and go from there thanks for the web site lots of good info on there. i found 2 sensors unhooked also.
