Brake Question?

Hi, I have a 71" highboy 4x4. 4 wheel drums. I see a lot of people do the disk swap for the front. Is this nesessary? I'm sure disk brake are a lot better, but i'm propably not going to drive mine too much and i'm thinking the drums will be fine.

Drum brakes work, have on your truck for near 40 years, they will keep on working.

Are disc brakes better? You betcha, but not required.

Well i'm going service the brakes. New drums, shoes, hardware and see how she does. She has power brakes, so not sure if that will make them work better. But I kinda like her being all orginal. Thanks for the reply John.

That's what I read in your post. My ol 66 has a much higher duty use, so it was a good move for me. Look in my photo gallery and see what it does on occasion.
