alrighty so as yall might know im trying to get my baby back on the road. if i can get her running again, i wana make her a nicer truck.
i wont be running a bed and i keep hearing ill brake traction realyl easy. so i thought, hey i bought my truck it had 6 spear tires. i have a full float dually axle. so i was like well hell a dually should help with my traction problem?
i heard a rummor going aroudn that a chevy 8bolt pattern will fit a ford 8bolt pattern, i say this stupid thing becuz my dad has a old chevy rv (liek a 70's-80's 350gas) and i was like well hell. those rims and spacers arint being used. y not take my 2wheels and 2 spares, have my friends dad rip the rubber off and slap em on those chevy rims and slap them on my truck. or do yall think a dually will be bad? how bad will the dually affect my mpg, i get 16mpg and i dont get my rpm's higher then 1500 off lights? btw i have an auto if that will affect any of this
so who knows if chevy rims will bolt to a full float duall axle, i belive the axle is from like a 94-97 1ton ford 7.3
The dually set up is going to put twice the drive wheel surface area of rubber on the ground so its actually going to decrease traction, which is contrary to what I would think but my tire guy splained it to me.
hahah well thanks guys, i wont put the dually tires on. but im not worried about ice traction cuz u know here in SA texas we barrly get rain, infact were in summer season now the water evaporates before it hits the ground. i mean cactus wont ever grow here
but i did want the dally look on my tuck, maybe ill just look for a set of rims and spacers
