Last weekend, I added a few switches to my dash. Five to be exact. Four of the typical Carling switches, three to the left of my steering wheel, and one beside the 4x4 switch. I also added one round rocker switch, beerstalker style.
The three Carlings on the left are for:
- wiper shaker (haven't installed the shaker yet)
- backup camera on/off
- heated mirror on/off
Another Carling beside the 4x4 switch for low range 2wd.
and the round rocker is for a truck cap light to replace the original battery powered unit.
Thanks a bunch guys, for the comments and the reps!
I wasn't sure if that location would work out for those switches or not, but luckily it does. I had read the threads where people had put a gauge there so I figured the switches might work too.
I haven't read this, but I assume that those installing a gauge there had to trim the gray part behind the dash like I did. Unless they used some pretty short gauges.

A while back someone posted a thread about that system and I haven't read a lot of real feedback on it. Mostly stuff from their site. It seems like a decent idea so I thought I'd give em a try and report back.
