Well I am finally going to buy a TCI MII front suspension for my 52 F-1. Planning on getting the 2' drop spindles for a lower stance. Was wondering if anyone has put the drop spindles on and how much did it lower the front end? Also while I am spending money I'm going to go ahead and buy some new leafs for the rear end. Being that the front is going to be lower what # drop am I looking for in the leafs for the rear? I want a slight rake in the stance.
Last question, I plan on putting in a 8.8 out of an explorer and was wondering if the new leaf springs I buy are going to fit the rear end if they are for a 52 F-1?
There is a ton of reading on the site on both of these items, more then we could ever tell you………….., you need 25 posts before you can use the search feature but if you go to Google and put this forum as the location to search it works better anyway. Search each item separately. Read and read some more.
To answer your questions, NO, the 2 inch drop is too much and are you going to put the springs on top of the housing like stock or underneath (about a 6 inch drop), requires spring brackets relocated to the bottom of the diff, what diff are you using?
Old is correct. The drop spindles will lower it too much. The MII front end drops the truck in the front by about 5 inches all by itself. Going to 15 inch wheels about another inch.
Be sure to get the 425# springs if you are using a small block engine, or the 450# springs for a big block or Flathead V8. And unless they are shot, leave the rears alone!
I am going to place the springs on top. REar axle is going to be an 8.8 out of an explorer. Wondering what springs to buy with using a TCI MII front suspension.
