stay away from used f250 with lift kit?

tring to find an 02/03 7.3...came across this one....thought about going to look at it tomorrow but since it has a lift, has kinda made me not even wanna pursue it...for some reason a lift makes me nervous...like it may have issues or something...thoughts?

It all depends on who owned it. A lot of trucks on this sight are lifted and very well taken care of. You can not know unless you check it out and are able to judge the person selling it. How clean is it? How does his yard look? His house, in and out? If things are clean and well kept looking then it may be a good find. Also, how does the perso come across, well manered, or hard selling. You have to judge for your self. Also you can post some pics here and let the members give their opinions. Find out if it has any other types of mods, maintenance records, carfax. Good luck. Welcome to FTE

As long as the lift was done professionally, I wouldn't worry.
too much.
I would however look for traces of packed mud in the crevices of the frame to see if it ever got flogged in a mud pit.

Looks like a nice rig.

I understand being nervous about it. I will not buy any truck that hasn't been adult driven, and that I can talk to the last owner...Just make sure its a good job, and for a personal truck I;d rather have it that one that has towed a ton.

Go take a look at it. Look really good at the spots that dealers tend to forget to clean. Like underneath the body. Look at the engine compartment in areas they can't get to. Take a good test drive in it. Not just around the block like most of the dealers want you to do. I don't like lifts, just my personal opinion, but it was very hard to find a truck without a lift here in AZ. Don't rush and listen to your gut. If something doesn't feel right. Walk out. If you do go and look at it remember to take two sets of keys to your vehicle you drove there in. I have had dealers take my keys to appraise my vehicle and then keep them and try to pressure you into buying something. Then you get in a pissing contest with them. This way you can just walk out and drive away. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

I would not own a superduty that was not lifted... Fixes some of the issues they have from the factory.

id probably be more worried about how the transmission was taken care of. As for the lifted part, as long as it was done by a professional it should be ok. Make sure it is a well known brand of lift kit (superlift, BDS, tough country, rough country)

I have a 99 PSD I got a 6" lift from superlift and I put it on myself, it was going all good but the front gave me issues (because of a 2" leveling kit someone prior put on the truck), I would check to see if they changed the brake lines to extend them, front and rear. I also don't like how stiff the suspension is now, but I love having a huge truck. plus my tires rub now that I put 37.5" tires on it. I get 1.5 turns in my wheel now instead of 2 turns, the only thing I can do is get a bigger offset for my rims. I need all the turning I can get cause I have the 4 door long bed.
