Vapor lock is when a part of the fuel system gets so hot that the gas boils, creating an air pocket usually at of near the fuel pump. Then there is no fuel flow. You can't vapor lock a cold engine. Even a warm engine is unlikely to vapor lock until you shut it off and let the temp rise for 15 to 30 minutes, then the engine starts and runs on the gas in the carb (or not if the carb fuel percolates) then dies because there is no additional fuel. There is another thing that happens, but it is also with a hot engine and it is shut off. The fuel in the carb boils and then there is a crank no start. It is called percolation as previously mentioned.
You are assuming you have something you may not have. Describe what is happening rather than assume something you know nothing about by your own admission.
