Need e-brake pic (underside)
I should note it's an '56 F-600, the e-brake tightens a collar around the driveshaft, I had thought most normal e-brakes went to the brakes.
I have 3 pieces, two that seem to go on either side that connect to the collar part above the spring, and one that is connected to the handle. Seems I'm missing a bolt or something, looks like maybe the curve on the bolt head would go through it, but how the poop it came off it in the first place is beyond me, I'd just like to see one how it's suppose to be attached before I try to get that back on assuming I'm right... lol doesn't look fun.
I can get a picture if need be, probably be easier than saying "this and that and one of those"...
Thanks
From what you describe, you have an external band type. There were 2 different types, one with a "hub" on the output of the transmission and a band that squeezed around it (external band), and one with a brake drum on the output of the transmission and 2 internal shoes that would contact the inside of the drum (internal expanding).
The shop manuals usually show the linkage pretty well, and detail how to adjust. A Motors or Chilton manual covering medium trucks would also have this info. There is usually an adjusting ros and a clevis in the linkage. I do not have a picture of either, but could take one of the internal expanding type this weekend if it would help.
