I am at the point in my project to where i need to decided ona transmisson for my truck i want a 4 speed auto , my engine is a 1995 351 roller (30 over) with aluminum heads and a stealth intake , with long tube headers , my truck is a 1973 f100 it has been completely restored
I guess what i am trying to say is does some sell a kit to do this ? and which trans should i go with c-4 c-6 aod aode i have no clue please help
Well, a C4 and a C6 are not 4 speeds so you can cross them off your list.
An AOD does not require a computer whereas an AODE is Electronically controlled.
Here is my write up on the AOD I put in my '76 with a 289: The Street Slammer Project Transmission
C4 is probably not what you want since its bigger brother C6 is same price and significantly stronger.
Neither have overdrive, as pointed out.
If you are asking this question you probably don't want AODe as its a pain to make it all work with the stupid controller. AOD would therefore probably be your best option with overdrive. I don't think the AOD's are as strong as the C6's but you can build anything.
