Cruise control rebuild

Is it possible to rebuild a cruise control motor? Mine sticks on after I use it. Is there some kind of spring inside it that needs replaced or should I drill a hole in it and mount one on the outside? I have the linkage loose enough that I cant go over 60. Do I dare take it apart or will I never be able to get it back together?

Cruise control rebuild

I have a local parts jobber that claims he can send my actuator out to be rebuilt for around $100.00, his source doesn't have units already done to swap with, this place is part of the Bumper to Bumper chain, certainly we Ford truck folks aren't the only ones that have run into trouble with these units??
