Rear power slide window

Rear power slide window
When I bought my 2006 F-250 CC a few months ago, everything worked great except for the rear power slide window. Upon hitting the dash button, I can hear the motor whine but the window never moves. I'm told it may be the actuator motor has gone bad. Has anyone experienced this and can you give me a ballpark on replacement/repair costs at the dealership?
Thanks

The rear slider is operated by cables; much like the cables that a bicycle uses for brakes. If you can here is spinning, then most likely one of the cable ends has popped. It's easy to diagnose, just get back there and look on either side of the sliding glass and see if the cables are connected at the bottom on both sides.
Anyway, if you can hear it spinning, chances are the motor and sealed cable system are trashed ... there's no repairing it.
You'll need Ford P/N 6C3Z-7823394-AA (or WLM-156). The part alone retails for $220.60 .. and keep your old motor & cables or you'll be paying a core charge.
It's an easy fix ... just remove that black panel on the rear wall and you'll see everything.

The one thing I learned when I bought mine a little while ago is keep the channel clean. Mine had a little dirt that seemed to strain the motor. After blowing it out clean, sprayed a little bit of silicon in the channel and some on the cable, it works a lot better. I know that's ground breaking info but it beats having the cable snap or motor burn out because of something simple could have prevented it.
