'51 F1 "Carletta"
Got "Carletta" out for a drive yesterday. 226 flatty seems to run reasonably strong. Bought from a gentleman in Nebraska 3 years ago after it had sat in barn for many many years. did all the usual things: 12 volt conversion, carb and fuel pump rebuild, new brakes bearings, drums, radiator, fuel tank, gauges, windshield, seat redone, etc. Patched up the running boards and had line x covered..turned out pretty good. It's good from afar, but far from good as a friend says. It'll never be a show truck, but hopefully a local daily fair weather driver. Thanks to all here who have provided advice in the last 3 years. I couldn't have done it without you!! dave

Here's my '56 Panel that I sold 21 years ago. I bought it back 5 years ago and was in a bad wreck just a couple of months after that. I was busted up pretty bad, and will feel effects from my injuries for the rest of my life. I finally got it home this week. I will use the 500 Cadillac engine and transmission from the '56 pickup that was totaled in the crash. I also will reuse the Chrysler 8 3/4 rear from the pickup. One of my old style wheels was destroyed in the crash but I have found two matching replacements.
We, my wife and I, are thinking about painting it back the original light blue, maybe two tone, with some white or a dark blue.
