Real nice workmanship on you're build, looking forward to the completed pics.......I'm assuming the exhaust pipes run under the rear axle? Could you post a pic?

'51 F1 "Carletta"

Got "Carletta" out for a drive yesterday. 226 flatty seems to run reasonably strong. Bought from a gentleman in Nebraska 3 years ago after it had sat in barn for many many years. did all the usual things: 12 volt conversion, carb and fuel pump rebuild, new brakes bearings, drums, radiator, fuel tank, gauges, windshield, seat redone, etc. Patched up the running boards and had line x covered..turned out pretty good. It's good from afar, but far from good as a friend says. It'll never be a show truck, but hopefully a local daily fair weather driver. Thanks to all here who have provided advice in the last 3 years. I couldn't have done it without you!! dave

She looks good Dave! Thanks for the pictures. A fair weather driver is more fun than a trailer queen.

Thanks Abe. I knew you'd like that meadow green! Up close it looks like someone sprayed it with a rattle can...runs etc.
Had some walnut trees cut down and milled and want to redo the bed with them. Ground is so soft and muddy I can't get to the stack to start working though!

Almost ready to take to my painter. Yesterday I fitted up the new running boards and had to drill the mounting holes so the boards will fit snug against the fenders. It was even warm enough to get two coats on them with Herculiner.

Here's my '56 Panel that I sold 21 years ago. I bought it back 5 years ago and was in a bad wreck just a couple of months after that. I was busted up pretty bad, and will feel effects from my injuries for the rest of my life. I finally got it home this week. I will use the 500 Cadillac engine and transmission from the '56 pickup that was totaled in the crash. I also will reuse the Chrysler 8 3/4 rear from the pickup. One of my old style wheels was destroyed in the crash but I have found two matching replacements.
We, my wife and I, are thinking about painting it back the original light blue, maybe two tone, with some white or a dark blue.

Love the two-tone idea If you can find Dennis Carpenters panel it will add some inspiration to you. You have a long journey ahead of you namely repairing that volare front end and frame damage, in the end it will have been well worth it
