Your truck looks great. On the cooling issue make sure that you have a fan shroud. Missing shrouds and baffles are the cause of many overheating issues , . . NOT thermostats . If you add an electric fan it should be a puller mounted behind the radiator on a full shroud. You have to force as much air as possible through the full frontal area of the radiator. Front mounted electric fans impede that flow.

I used polished aluminum diamond plate as a shroud and mount. It works well. Home Depot carries it.

Never mount your electric fan directly to the radiator fins. This is what happened to mine after less than 100 miles of use.

Because there is a mention of electric fans, I want to add to the conversation. Cooling Components is the best I have found. A little pricey but by far the quietest and a selection of sizes of shrouds as a pre-mounted assembly. Most of us have heard a vehicle enter a show and the fan sounds like a jet plane trying to take off. You won't have that with their products.

I wasn’t planning on uncovering my truck until I was ready to start reassembling the front end, but the wind decided different. Yesterday was nice and warm here in NJ, 65 degrees, so I figured I could prime the bare metal parts. Again the wind had different ideas. My “paint booth” is a cheap pop up canopy with drop cloths clipped to it, and a box fan with a furnace filter.

Tent for sale, some minor wind damage.

You could crawl in and paint some small parts!

As long as the truck wasn't damaged, that's what matters.

The only thing damaged was the primer I had just put down. I just came back from sanding off the damaged spots and scuffing up the rest. We should have another warm day soon so I’ll buy a new pop up tent and spray again.

I’m so close to putting this back together I can taste it.

yep…it’s green.

Its not a stock color. My suspicion is that some company who owned it painted it their companies color, the glove box is stenciled with “Tires 40”.

as for the color, Sherwin Williams matched it by scanning the ashtray. Here’s the paint code.

Canvas still looks good seems like you could beef up parts of the frames and still use it..

The vinyl is still good, but the frame is done, many broken parts. I saved it from one wind attack, but this did it in.

Frame does look a little light weight, just thought there could be a way of salvaging it, at least you'll have a spare cover..
