Hey Dan,
I'm sitting here scouring the pics for a yak.... some sort of cow like creature.
Tell us more about the plane yak in your pic.

Hey Ben,
Pop is right...that is a Yakovlev airplane. That one is a Yak-50.
I started an airplane repair business with a couple of partners a few years ago. We have grown a little. It turns out that there are several of these airplanes (Yak 50's, Yak 52's and Yak 55's) in our area. We went to Yak school to learn some of the Russian aircraft oddities...then we bought a bunch of metric tools! Saturday I had to make a house-call for one of our customers at an outlying airport. It was a pretty nice day, so I took the 52 (Ford...not Yak) out for a drive!! This photo op just jumped out at me!!
69boss, just an FYI, do you realize your bed is from a 1957 to 72 truck? The beds are the same and the fenders are the same but the fenders are mounted higher on the later beds than the 53 to 56 beds. But maybe you want them higher so you can get those big "meats" under them. Just beware you'll have a tough time getting your running boards on and looking right.

Thanks for the heads up Abe, I acquired the project in a trade for an old 55 210 and haven't done much to it until now. Those tires(brand new) will not be on the truck when finished, but with a mark VIII IRS in the rear and a CV front suspension I will be able to put some big tires and wheels anyway. The fenders are 'glass...guess I'll have to figure out the running board thing when the time comes....
