429 CJ\SCJ heads???
My father had a 429 in an old pickup (not orig. engine). It was some old 3/4 ton, 4spd, but the sob would lite up the tires while rolling down the highway at 60mph with 1000l of fuel in the box, reaching a top speed of 130mph. The engine had a terrible ending though, it carefully placed half a rod all over and through the oil pan, ruining the crank and the block. The heads were saved as well the cam(for specs only) but I can't find any web pages with Ford Engines casting numbers. Is there any easy way to determine the reason fo the power, is it the heads or just a freak engine, or is that the kind of hp one can expect from a 429?

Compression ratio 10.5:1,11:1 was a big bonus
