my 2000 F-350 cc has the psd in it with the catalytic converter & the air chamber already removed. It is the stock 3.5" exhaust with the stock muffler. I thought about a 5" straight pipe, but I don't know if I wanna go that loud or spend the $500 the muffler shop's asking I looked on autozonecom & I can get a Flowmaster 40 series for $140 bucks with the smae size inlets & outlets. is a 40 series hd enough to stand the high exhaust temps? How loud would it be? I want loud (23 yr old kid) but not obnoxiuos. Does anybody have a sound clip of one I searced youtube.............
I have the 4" with muffler, and it sounds great. quiet inside, but lots of turbo outside.
If your gonna spend $140 anyhow, I would put it towards a whole system.
IF you want it any louder, go with 5"
Here's a Walker BTM you can have for free. Shipping might not be worth it depending on where you live. (Couldn't find out where you live through your profile). But if you're anywhere near Seattle, it's yours. Still has the rear hanger tacked on. You would need to grind out the stubs of the old system (stock 3.5").
