If you install a leveling kit up front you can def run them on your stock rims
I used to run Nitto Terra Grapplers on my stock Lariat 16x7 rims
I do have a leveling kit on my 02 F-350, though, taller lift block in rear
285 are just one size bigger than the stock 265's, 305s are like a 33 inch tire
What model of Hankook? DynaPro ATM?
Roughly, using an online calculator that I can't vouch for:
The 285/75R16s are 32.8" tall w/ 8.4" of sidewall, 614 revs per mile.
The 305/75R16s are 34" tall w/ 9" if sidewall, 593 revs per mile.
3.6% difference between the two
I think they are dynapro atm"s 650.00 for the 285's and 720.00 for the 305's how wide is the stock rim? really don't want to have to put leveling kit on though....those prices are wholesale...thanks
Your 2000 wheels are 16 x 7" wide. Tons of people (including myself) run a 285 on a 7" rim with no problems. Some run a 305 tire on a 7" rim with no problems. A 305/70 tire is roughly the same height as a 285/75 tire, but wider.
go to Tirerack.com and search for tires by size and by size of your rim (16", I think). It will pull up every size of tire they carry in the wheel size. Just select the size you want to view, it will pull up what tires they have in that size and in each one, it lists the specs of that tire, including recommended wheel size from the tire manufacturer and they also have reviews.
I've heard they have a good technical support team as well.
They carry a lot of tires and sizes, so I use them for a reference. Unfortunately, they do not carry Nittos. but you can see others in the same size and see what the height and width, recommended rim width would be.
