Somthin a Rattlen
Hello,
My truck is a 76 f100 I6 2wd, so I am on my way to work, I stop at a light and hear somthing rattlen under the hood. Once at work I check it out, the pully and the attached fan has a slight wobbel. Shut it down and I am able to jiggle the the pully/fan up and down, side to side. I still have to get home about 15 miles, freeway, how is the pully/fan connected and in your guys opinion from the info given, how safe is it to drive home? I also posted in the I6 forum. All feed back is appreciated.

that would be your waterpump taking a dump. i wouldnt remove the fan, it will overheat and cause major engine problems. you can try to limp it home, but safest bet would be to tow it home or work on it right there on the spot.
