Disappearing Car Door
Maybe this is old news... dunno...
Anybody else seen this? It's a "rotary drop door" or "disappearing car door" and the video shows them using it on a Lincoln Mark VIII...

Looks kind of cool, but man, I can see problems. Especially these days when they want side air bags and crash beams in the doors.
I don't even want to guess how much it might cost to fix one if you had a fender bender.

I was wondering about the safety aspects myself... And, what if it got knocked out of alignment and can't be opened or closed? Or open partway and stuck? Nah, the old-fashioned hinged design works just fine...
